In Timbuktu people traded gold for salt!
Buffalo, New York started out as a salt lick for buffaloes.
Oil was discovered in Pennsylvannia when some dude was drilling for salt.
So many people were smuggling salt in France that they set up a special police force to stop this crime!

Salt is so much more than something you sprinkle on your fries.
